Republican incumbent Derrick Van Orden and Democratic challenger Rebecca Cooke have raised a record amount as they run neck and neck in the race for the 3rd Congressional District.
Donations from big agribusinesses and right-wing billionaire megadonor Richard Uihlein make up much of the congressman’s early financial support.
Notable donors include Diane Hendricks of ABC Supply Co., John Menard, the Uihleins of ULINE, casino magnate Steve Wynn and Chicago Bears minority owner Pat Ryan.
After a close finish in 2020, the Republican looks to flip the western Wisconsin congressional seat Democrats have held for 26 years.
