Former Navy Seal Van Orden first joined the U.S. House in 2022, narrowly defeating his Democratic challenger in the western Wisconsin swing district.

Van Orden sits on the committees overseeing Agriculture, Transportation & Infrastructure and Veterans Affairs.

Van Orden reports no income on his report. The congressman and his wife live on his military pension after more than 20 years of service, and on payments for his 100% disability rating from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, a campaign spokesman has said.

Benefits from federal retirement programs and disability payments from the federal government need not be reported, according to the rules of the U.S. House Ethics Committee.
